Happy Belated Daddy's day :)

As promised, today both darling tootsie & I met up with my parents and bro for a treat at Tonkichi, Isetan Scouts after our Jap lesson. I decided to treat my family (my sis cant make it) for a Jap meal becuz my parents have never eaten Jap food before...they are just "mountain tortoise" (Sua Gu). hahaha

So after dinner, we shopped awhile at the mall and I suggested to Mr Tootsie to bring my parents to east coast to "lim kopi" at O town. It was a pretty enjoyable nite which I felt happy :)
keke ...I want my parents to try those eating places that we, this young generation, have been to...instead of bringing them to those standard places that they have been before...eg...seafood lar...zi cha lar....so borringggg...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......Papa Mama....I shall bring u to more interesting places :)

Alrightey thats abt it...I am feeling so full now ...burrrp.....

Sedili Fishing Trip

So over the weekend, I left Mrs Tootsie at home and went with the guys to Sedili for a fishing trip.

It'll be crazy to bring her along as..

1) We just pee into the ocean.. so where is she gona pee?
2) I'll have to help her put the bait on the hook which will eat into my precious fishing time.
3) She will not dare to eat the food as utensils are just washed with sea water and we eat with our hands.
4) We did not bathe for almost 2 days.
5) "The guys will scold you for bringing a gal along as it is said that a gal on the boat will affect the no. of fishes land" (This is what my Dad said)

It was a 2 day 1 night trip. I woke up at 5.30am, pick up Qing Di and went down to a friend's place where he picked us up and head towards Malaysia.

It was about an hours trip from Malaysia to the Sedili Port.

From there, we load in our equipment and set off to fish!

We were really anticipating catching all the big fishes so it was pretty disappointing when we had to wait another hour or so before we reach our destination.

Once we reached, we began fishing IMMEDIATELY. The start was good. A friend caught a huge parrot fish and soon followed by another who caught a pretty big duno-what fish. I was like "ho sey liao. Get ready to land the big fishes"

But it was not meant to be.. :(

Fish just doesn't come to me. My friends were like catching fishes after fishes. But nothing bite my bait!!

I had 2 rod. One I left it to catch big fish while the other I play with it using Apollo hooks to catch small fishes. My "big fish" rod only caught one fish.. which was this..

But it was an injured one. I think I did not pull it up when it was hooked and it was bitten by some bigger fishes. The fish that bit this fish must be a huge one we reckon.

My other rod which was used to catch smaller fishes caught even bigger fish than my catch-big-fish rod! About table size fish(about 20cm)

One of the beautiful fish I caught

The boatman was telling us the best time to catch big fishes was at 6-7pm and early morning 4-5am. So we had our dinner first..

The boatman preparing our dinner

Enjoying the sunset

Finally dinner is really!

After eating, we continued fishing but the weather was disappointing. A storm came and soon we had to hide in the shelter. Raining means cold, cold means no fish. So we couldn't fish overnight and when early morning came, the catch was bad too.

But nevertheless, this is what we end up with..

Some of our bigger catch

Overall it was not a good caught because of weather but it was fun because of the company.. and also because we had a fish feast after that. I'll let the pictures do the talking..

Germain is some Sichuan style

Parrot fish with preserved turnip

Misc fishes in thai style

Sotong in Assam

Misc fishes in black bean style

And the end result of the feast..

Sedap!

Prawning

While waiting for my car to be serviced, I went to the prawn pond in bishan with Qing Di for an hour of prawning. Catch was really bad. Caught like only 8 prawns between the 2 of us. What was most gek was this uncle beside me who caught like one every 3 mins. Really pro man! Best I ever seen.

He uses his own rod which extends all the way to the centre of the pond where all the prawns are. And he uses the bigger type of hook and also different type of bait from us. I'm guessing that is earthworm?

What was comforting is I caught the biggest prawn ever in my short prawning career (3 times so far)

There.. I compared it to my slipper (I'm a size UK 8). While trying to remove the hook, I almost got snapped by the claws. Luckily it bit the front of my slipper and not my toes!! I think I created quite a scene trying to remove the hook that one lau jiao uncle came to teach me how.. by holding the claws backwards.

Qing Di mention that he heard that in the forums, people are saying this is the normal size in Taman Jurong. But also heard they release less prawns though. But I went with Mrs Tootsie once to recce Taman Jurong and in that 10 mins I was there. Nobody caught anything. People in the forum are recommending FW3 though so maybe I'll make a trip there some time.

I took my biggest catch home and dump it into my instant noodles for dinner.

Fat and Juicy Prawn

Yummy!!

Lousy Service

Went to Taka's Crystal Jade Palace for dinner earlier with Mrs Tootsie.

There wasn't any particular bad service from the staff but Mrs Tootsie give me the impression that it was a pretty high class restaurant. So I felt compared to other cheaper chinese restaurant I've been, service was pretty bad.

Mainly..

1) No one bother to pour tea for us! There were hardly any customers. I could say that it was so empty that there was at least one waitress(or more) to one table.

2) No one acknowledge us as we leave the place.

Basically I was made to feel low class in that "high class" restaurant. So I will not go there again. I never understand what's so great about crystal jade restaurants anyway.

Aston Residence

I was at Mrs Tootsie's house reading the newspapers when I saw the advertisement for Aston Residence. The development was so nice I told Mrs Tootsie why don't we go have a look... just for fun :)
It has a 120m pool and every unit has their own private access to the swimming pool. How cool is that? The best thing is its next to the pool.

This is like my current dream house except for Sentosa Cove with their private parking for your yacht.

So we made our way there to Pasir Ris Close where we saw 2 other developments but they're condos instead. But maybe we weren't matured looking enough. No agents actually bother to entertain us. How realistic these people are. Actually I'm getting pretty used to such sales people. I walked into any branded shop also no one bother to serve me cos I don't dress branded enough. But like my friend in sales says. The ones that dress lok kok-ly are the ones who will end up buying. Those that dress nicely usually are those giam ones who look look only.
Anyway when we went in, there were like only 3 units left and the whole place was crowded so I guess even if you want there is none left.
Maybe next time..

The Ring

Luv Tootsies 020608

Nana and her limited edition dog

Mrs Tootsie "hey look! That dog very nice"

Nana "Where? *turns around* ya very nice"

Mrs Tootsie "The fur very nice"

Nana "This kinda dog is limited edition one"

Me.. with a blur look.. DOG GOT LIMITED EDITION ONE MEH?

reminiscent of old songs..

So that day we meet up with the PDA couple. It has been a while since we catch up. So we met in Raffles city before we went for a short walk to Yhingthai Palace to have some thai food. The food was pretty good. The Tom Yum soup was not too bad. Well, better then the one I had in Bali's Pizzahut. That was gross! Ya I know, you must be thinking why I have Tom yum soup in Pizzahut of all places and in Indonesian somemore. But I had a craving..

We then went to Partyworld KTV to sing. It was really fun as we end up singing oldies songs like Jacky Cheung's "qing shu"

Aaron Kwok's "對你愛不完"

草蜢's "寶貝對不起" and "怎麼天生不是女人"

It was like a concert for oldies songs.

We should do that again. And this time I will do some research.. of more classical oldies to sing for our concert. lol.

Hmm.. what other oldies are there to sing?
