Happy Birthday Nana !

Firstly to Nana Darling:

Happy Birthday to u! And hope you have enjoyed the inpromptu nite activity suggested by Mr Tootsie darling! I did enjoyed myself alot though :)

Well in fact everything wasnt really planned for nana darling...esp the late prawn fishing.

Both darling and myself were having our CJ dinner and thought how about we meet nana darling and hubby D to celebrate her bday in advance...and surprise her with a "spongecake" as birthday cake as you know lar..so late also abit full to eat those creamy cake keke... So we thought this was pretty fun and darling actually called D and planned a surprise for nana. So after watching Made of Honour with Darling, we headed to darling's nest to wait for D's call.

On the way, we bought a lovely Ispahan from Bakerzin for our birthday gal. Hope u like it :)

Well before I proceed...let me tell u abt the movie we watched though I know this movie isn't pretty new in the theatres...but well the Tootsies' have since wanted to watch it, so right after we came back from our Bali trip, we caught that show yest. And you know wat, I was mesmerized by the lead actress...she is such a classic beauty and cuts an alluring presence in Made of Honour. Even my darling thought she is beautiful too.

ok ok back to nana birthday surprise...our plan actually failed lor...we wanna showed up at our usual meet up place or elsewhere with the lovely Ispahan for Nana but D told us Nana dont wanna go out. She was feeling tired and having a bad headache.
So clever darling thought: mmm how abt we surprise her at their hse...so off we head to their hse and SURPRISEeee!!!! We saw the birthday gal lying on the bed, eyes closed and guess wat!!!! (This part I thought was funny and decided to blog it) Nana darling must be feeling kinda disappointed no one celebrate for her on her bday eve and was playing Stefanie Sun's song - Wo Bu Nan Guo (repeat mode somemore lor)...

Nana darling eyes lit up upon seeing us ....no more headache liao right nana....hehehe and she suggested gng for kopi. Her mood suddenly can go from -zero to 100 jumpy bouncy nana.

So after kopi, we planned to explore Jurong Fishery Port (all thanks to darling lor...cuz he seems to be in the mood for fishing for the past weeks...). Nana actually forgotten to bring her IC so we cant go in...but also good lar...cuz I tell u...the stench can make u faint and vomit!

Darling : Hey how abt prawn fishing....
Nana maybe feeling tired...but she is still very ON and I am sure both nana darling and her hubby D enjoyed the nite too....It was a pretty good catch and thanks to some prawn fishing lovers who gave us their prawns after they left home. I think we brought home more than 1 kgs of prawns!

So that nite was pretty enjoyable, ending with a MAC breakfast and heading home at abt 6.30am...

Back from our Bali trip - Day 1

Using our krisflyer points we booked a trip to Bali. Bali has always been a place I wanted to go. The impression I get is that Bali is a great resort place. I think its because of this great expectation that I was greatly disappointed. It wasn't what I expect it to be.
But still despite that, we still had fun :)
Day 1

After a great breakfast (wasn't really great. One of the worst breakfast we had. We ate once in the hotel and we never had another day of breakfast in the hotel again!), we set out for a day tour with our tourguide. He was really proud of his 1970 something VW jeep. When he picked us up from the airport he was like "This is my VW jeep. Its european." Yes I know its european made but its OLD. I wasn't too impressed with his jeep. I would have prefer a new land rover jeep.
So we made our way 1st to the elephant caves.. which does not have any elephants. Its a religious place. Bali as we know from the guide was 80% hindu. Because we were wearing berms, we had to put on a sarong before we can go in.

Even the deities have to put on sarong. To the balinese, big trees are considered holy as well therefore a cloth is wrapped around them and offerings are made everyday in front of the tree.

This is a pond in the middle of the elephant caves. There seems to boiling stuff in the pond which the guide say is because of the volcano. It there is volcano, then that pond must be hot.. BUT.. there is fishes swimming inside.

We then drive to the volcano. According to the guide, there are 3? volcanoes there. 1 active while the rest lays dormant. It erupted in 1907? and 1960 something before. So according to my own calculations, isn't it about time they move out of that place??

It was scary making our way of out of the volcano area. Well, for Mrs Tootsie it was because she was worrying if it was her time and that the volcano will erupt as we try to escape. For me, it was of the OLD VW jeep. I was afraid it does not have enough power to climb our way out.

Balinese are a bunch of very religious group of people. They pray everyday.. 3 times a day in fact. They pray with this box shape thing they make from leafs with an incense and some flowers inside.

It is outside every shop you can find in Bali. We have to avoid stepping on it all the time.

Bones and I

Weather: Cosy Rainy Morning
Time: 11.31am

I finally managed to sleep at 5 am today but it was not a good one actually...BUT maybe god knows I din sleep well and YEAH it rained!!! Yeh so shiok to sleep in a rainy weather.
I grabbed the Mind your Body article and saw this section on (Bank on your bones). This brings back memories..... when I had a bad fall.

I remembered that day was also one of my sec buddy (N)'s bday. That morning I woke up early to sit for a CPIM test arranged by my co. While having my morning shower, I realised a HUGE lizard was on my foot. At that moment, I did not know how to react and neither did I shout. All I knew was I was getting that disgusting feeling. So I quickly dressed up and ran right out from the bathroom! I ran and SLIPPED right from my kitchen to my living room...its not those normal slipped distance that you could have imagine...That fall...I feel like I was ice skating without the skater shoes! So can you imagine it? ...and I landed with a loud thud! I couldnt get up and was struggling for 10 mins alone and in pain....I felt the pain in my abdomen. When I managed to get up, I couldnt stand straight.

Thinking back, I thought I was pretty strong mentally. I made my way (like a pregnant lady) to the school to sit for the test. I passed that test of course:) But the pain and how I endured it for my good fren's bday at night ...staying overnight at Gallery Hotel as we gals have already organised for the bday gal there...

Struggling with the pain...which I think most girls cannot take it...I struggled to work as usual, keeping mumb without telling my parents. I made my way to see my co doc and the doc asked me to take an X ray. I also remembered I was in pain until I have difficulty speaking normally...I was just trying to endure it and hope its just a small fall that I will recover soon. X ray showed that I have broken my Vertebrate T12. Only then, did I pluck up my courage to tell my mum about how serious my bone fracture is. My mum nagged of course...just becuz of that stupid lizard and made u like this???!!! Even you readers would have think that I was stupid.
I must say I "suffered" quite alot after this fall. My mum brought me to see a specialist for orthopaedic at SGH. The doc told my mum I was very lucky. I was born with fragile bones and that fall almost made me paralysed. The doc detected the fracture was just 1 cm to my spine. I was very lucky indeed. However the doc has cautioned me....another second serious fall, will really make me paralyse and I shd avoid carrying heavy stuff.

After which, I remembered I made visits and check up with the doc and a chinese sin seh, consuming calcium tablets and chinese sinseh pills for the following 9 mths to a year...it was a very very tiring journey....but soon, reports showed that my fractured bone has healed and I am fully discharged from seeing the doc.

Its been 2 years now, mummy consistently remind me to take more calcium...so reading the section on (Bank on your bones) on this week issue of Mind your body, its really important to start banking more calcium before we age at 30. Recommended intake of calcium shd be 800 - 1000mg. Low intake will lead to lower bone density and high risk of fractures.

So let's all start saving now, plumping more calcium to our own bank account :)

Back from fishing..

Sad.. I caught only a 5cm fish at the start. Then later on no more fish.

I think I read wrongly. Read in a forum someone mention that Labordor park will not "sunkon(not sure how to spell. Means hook stuck in the stones)" since they pour sand over the stones. What rubbish! still got stones lor! And we kena sunkon so many times. End up we gave up and went for breakfast at 5.30am(hehe.. Had McGriddle again :))

Had wanted to try again at the jetty when it's open at 9am but we cannot "tong" anymore. We gave up and go home. But it was fun.. In the sense that I got such a "on" friend who I can suggest something and he just "on" me. Sometimes its fun to suggest something and everyone around you are so "on" and just say "lets go". But sadly this kinda friends are rare.

Labordor Park has change by the way. There used to be a camp I think before you turn to the carpark. I remember I went to despatch something in there when I was in army. Now the camp has become some resort. I din go in but drove in a little and saw the name something-resort and I think I saw a guard house or something so I din dare to go in in case I got chased out. But I walked from the other side(The red lighthouse thing and the Tiger Teeth duno what place) and I saw Labordor Seafood restaurant. I'll go back another day to explore the place.

Mrs Tootsie: Ya lor...gng to my fav park with someone else, not me....have been mentioning to go to this park for so loonggggggg

I'm going fishing!!

Was planning to fish tomorrow morning but Mr Tootsie has made an impromtu decision with his friend to go fishing right away. Thats right! Night fishing!

Go go go! SCV ready to go SIR!

Note: Wish me luck. Hope I can catch some fish to "养家".

How to save a wet mobile phone

hee I extracted this out from a mag and find it interesting to share with u guys :P

If you happen to drop your mobile phone or IPOD in the toilet?

  1. Fish it out & wash it
  2. Take it off (if it isn't already dead)
  3. Run to your kitchen
  4. Stick it in the rice bucket

Apparently the rice will absorb the excess moisture as its a natural desiccant. 24hrs later.....retrieve ur device then cook the rice (Do not waste lar...now rice very ex leh).

Eh if you guys happen to try it and it works...do let me know ya :)

Eagerly waiting ...

For U.... ur arrival on 6th June :)

Dance with the Dragon

As Mrs Tootsie had said, this was one of the most crap movie I ever seen.

What has the whole show gotta do with dragons? What has dancing gotta do with dragons? I thought the mention of dragon you'll think of chinese gongfu. Ya there was gongfu but what is the link between gongfu and dancing?!? Was it Robin Leong's(he was the producer) idea to put in gongfu because he loves gongfu? It was like trying to be an artisitic movie but failed in doing so. Everytime there is a fight they play the same stupid music and moves between the scenes. And the ending when fann falls was so anti climax and the music after... err...

The other show which I was tempted to walk out was the Texas Chain Saw Massacre and that was because it was too disgusting to watch.

Well I see the link..

Watch only if you're a fan of fann or if you want to watch Shuai Ges (Jang Hyuk and Jason Scott Lee is quite cute I think. Jang Hyuk charismatic and Jason Scott Lee.. nice muscles. Note: I'm not gay)

I enjoy this day 02 May 08

It's a day that I must say I have really relaxed myself and feel so happy since the day I resigned. Lazing at Mr Tootsie's hse for lunch, we headed for a quick trim of our bushy long locks.

And the day started when both of us spent the rest of the day shopping and catching one of another lame-est movie of 2008 (Dance of the Dragon).

Yeap I agreed with Mr Tootsie, one of the worst movie we ever watched, the feeling was like ...psss shall we leave this theatre hahaha...

Though this movie may have spoit the day, but still I really enjoyed myself with my darling, shopping for clothes & specs, reading papers and relaxing our tired feet for a cuppa @ Gloria's Jeans. Its one of another special day that I will rem :) ...our anniversary

Thank u darling for buying me clothes :) keke Loveya!

My 1st deep sea fishing experience

I've always wanted to go fishing on a boat. Though I have twice fish on a kelong which was truely an unforgettable experience. But it was not the same as fishing on a boat. I always see those people on TV fishing from a boat. Catching tuna, marlins etc.. haha but its of course impossible to caught such fish in Singapore waters.

So yesterday I finally got a chance to experience fishing from a boat. Together with 5 other friends, we rent a boat(those where you take to pulau ubin).

I actually duno where we fish but it was always near Singapore. Cos I can my favourite island, Pulau Tekong, can see malaysia and sometimes Uncle tell us its Indonesia!

In total I caught 5 thing. 5 thing because I don't know some of the thing I caught.

1) Some small fish that is about 12cm long.

2) Some sorta shark

3) Puffer fish

4) Sea urchin with a small red sea cucumber stuck on it

5) A piece of stone!!

Our total caught. The 2 biggest fish was caught by the Uncle.

My contribution is one of the small one

So after a tired day of fishing, we took the fishes to a restaurant(which one of my friends know the chef) and had him cook our fishes. So this is the results...

Fishes cooked in 3 different styles.

The chef says the meat of this fish is not that nice when steam so he had it fried in thai style. Excellent!

2 groupers cooked in Hongkong style.

I-duno-what-fishes cooked in curry style.

This is the 1st time I had so much fishes for dinner. I dun mind cos I love eating fishes. It was really one of the best dinner and I think I'll remember this dinner for a long time to come.

People walking was looking at us thinking what are this 4 weird guys doing eating 3 dishes of fishes for dinner. One pass by and comment "wah this restaurant sells fishes only ar?" It was funny to see the faces of everyone who passes by our table.

This is the end of our dinner...
